AN UNQUALIFIED SUCCESS
This seems to be the consensus of opinion following our performance of John Stainer's "The Crucifixion" on the evening of Palm Sunday. The choir was some 20 strong, thanks to our guest singers and all the hard work at practice paid off. It was an amazingly emotional experience and all the singers somehow seemed to drag up extra reserves from somewhere to produce a result which some described as "stunning". Other comments were: "I thought I knew the Crucifixion, but did not realise it could move you like that"..... and "Thank you for a wonderful and moving evening".
We are most grateful to our guests, Alan, Tony, Martin and our very own Churchwarden, Colin. Your support was invaluable, gentlemen. Our Vicar, Rev. Canon Stephen Carter, accompanied us most competently on the organ and Director of Music, Dr. Stuart Pegler, undoubtedly worked harder than most as conductor and soloist.
A great evening and I think, if asked, most of us would probably have gone ahead and done another performance immediately! Trouble is, nobody asked us!

THERE IS ROOM FOR YOU
No apologies for repeating that we are always on the lookout for new members in our choir in all voice parts. We especially need more sopranos so come on ladies - it's really not as difficult as you might think to sing in a church choir. You will find that existing members and our current organist, Stuart, will give you all the help you want; it really is good fun. We are always in the market to go walkabout with our singing so if you would like us to visit you, please get in touch.
We have in recent years sung carols at Christmas time for various Masonic Lodges and we already have two firm bookings for Christmas 2010.
We have also in the past sung at a car showroom for the launch of a new model.
